Hello Sweeties,

Firstly thank you for having a little look at my blog, it means a lot! As you may have seen, my name is Emily Jane Hassell and I am 15 years old, one of the younger students in my year. I live in Kent, England, formally and understandably known as ‘The Garden of England’. I am English and South African and try my best to understand both sides of my culture.

I love my family, friends and other things, among these horses and writing (be it letters or stories). I like to see my life as a story, one that has not yet finished nor started, sometimes I wish that I could have a camera to hand at any given moment to record those that are most important, be it happy or sad, in the hope that one day I could look back on those moments and reflect upon my life, truly embrace how special each and every moment it.

Sentimental is one word that could be used to describe me, I like to keep important items, ones of sentiment. In my opinion these items have much more value than those than can have an instant price given to them.

Something which cannot have a price or value put to it is friendship. Friendship to me is to be able to depend on someone for support, comfort and love in your times of need, doubling as someone that makes you laugh, smile and be happy. I do not believe that friendship can be defined using a single sentence, however I know that I have found it with my friends at least, we may not be the ‘popular’ group in school but we’re certainly happy as we are. 

I enjoy long walks, hacks and bike rides in the countryside because it makes me feel free and gives me time to mull over any thoughts which may be dominating my mind at that time. I love people, understanding the complexities of individuals and getting to know others points of view and theories about things which they believe in. Getting to know someone truly is a difficult feat and it requires you to have gained the persons love and trust. There are not many people in this world that truly know me; even if someone watched me for a vast period of time I doubt that they would understand me completely.

Before my life comes to a close there are certain things which I want to have done, these are mainly trivial things however I want to do them for a reason, these include:

·         Stay at the Madonna Inn,

·         Watch the Northern lights,

·         Have a published novel,

·         Eat a battered Mars bar,

·         Own a horse again once again,

·         Go in a natural Jacuzzi,

·         Get proposed to in a rowing boat on the river Seine,

·         Get married to my true love and have children, finally have my fairytale come true.
